21 MAY - Crew Group Photos & Flat Gorby

Below are some crew photos. The first two feature “Flat Gorby”. Gorby is International Space Station Astronaut Sunita Williams’ dog. Flat Gorby has been spoted all over the place and NASA Watch has been updating their readers with “Flat Gorby Sightings”. Aquarius, an underwater living habitat off the coast of Florida that hosts NEEMO analogue space missions, has a life-sized magnet of Flat Gorby. We thought we would join in with the other research stations around the planet with a Flat Gorby crew photo. This dog is quickly becoming as famous as the traveling gnome. The importance of this is that can be another small way to bring the world together and educate each other about our endeavors.

We wish Sunita a safe return from her mission and a happy reunion with her dog Gorby.

Space!

    Ryan,
I’ve been hearing about your adventures second hand and thought it was time to contact you directly. I’m very proud of you and what you’ve accomplished. We’re all cheering for you in Ottawa - we might even win a Stanley Cup in your honour!

Enjoy the beauty of the north - I know it’s desolate but, somehow, it’s also quite lovely. I’ve only been as far north as Inuvik but it gave me a taste of the external environment you’re experiencing. Even though I looked at the pictures, I’m having a hard time imagining what it’s like to live in the internal environment.
Know that we’re thinking of you and love you. Auntie Tina
